How many times have you gone to a conference or social media event and you learned best practices, philosophy and theory about social media, but when it’s time to sit down at the computer, you don’t have a clue on how to implement those ideas??  Well, Home Grown Social Media has the answer — Hands On Social Media! It’s something that isn’t done, because it takes dedication from both the instructor and student.

We are holding a two day course at the InTandem Workspace on Friday, March 2nd and Saturday, March 3rd and this will be a 100% HANDS ON event. We will guide you through the rough waters so you will have smooth sailing in your social media platforms. You will receive one on one help when you need it, for two big days. Your cost is only $249 which includes lunch, snacks, materials and membership to our PRIVATE Facebook Page.

We feel that this will give everyone the most attention for the results you are looking for. No question goes unanswered or overlooked and everyone participates.

A minimum of 2 people will be required to hold this class and there will be a number of emails to you regarding choices of the Optional Training or to answer specific questions. There are some requirements:  A laptop, smartphone,  logos or graphics, at least 6 pictures that you wish to place on your profiles that represent your business or the culture of your business. Usernames/Passwords of your accounts (if set up) and Usernames/Passwords will be created for those of you who do NOT have these accounts set up. (Don’t worry, we will set up a spreadsheet.)  A tablet or Ipad will not work to set up many of these profiles or do the exercises that we will need to do. You will also be creating videos — so keep that in mind as well.

Here’s how the course will be laid out for you:

Day 1 – Friday, March 2nd

8:00am – 9:00am – Social Media Breakfast – We will start out by having a group meeting with the Webster City Social Media Breakfast class to share ideas, compare notes and get a head start on the event. Others will be in attendance, but this is geared as a warm up event for the weekend.

9:00am – 9:30am – Why Are We Here? – We will introduce ourselves and go around the room and find out your challenges and needs in your specific areas of social media. Together we can get problems solved, questions answered and solutions delivered.

9:30am – 9:45am – Break Time – Basically we will hold breaks at regular intervals or whenever the class feels like it needs one.

9:45am – 11:30am – Graphic Design – We’ll be demonstrating one of the easiest to use programs called Canva. Canva is a go-to program for many people when designing cover pages for social media, as they have the specific dimensions included.

11:30am – 1:00pm – Lunch & Social Time – We will have lunch next door at The Saloon. They have noon specials and short orders. We’ll also be able to talk freely about your roles you have and the hats you wear in your business. A time to relax before the rest of the afternoon.

1:00pm – 3:00pm – Facebook For Business – We’ll work with you to get your Business Page set up the right way and demonstrate various themes for your business page. If you have an existing page, we can show you how to tweak that for the best engagement. We’ll also learn how to read page insights so you understand the fundamentals of reach and how it relates to your goals.

3:15pm – 4:00pm – Facebook Advertising – It’s MORE than just hitting the BOOST button. Keep in mind your target audience and we will show you the tools and best practices on how to reach them.

4:00pm – 5:00pm – Facebook Video – It’s here and it’s time to embrace it. We’ll show you the 60 second video method and why it works the best, PLUS be prepared to record your own Facebook Business Intro videos as well. We’ll go over scripts, lighting, topics and more.

5:00pm – Homework Assignments – What is a class without homework!!?? We’ll have some things for you to work on before the next day — to help you get a grasp on what you have learned and what is ahead on Saturday.

5:30pm – Dismissal

 

Day 2 – Saturday, March 3rd

9:00am – 10:00am – Q & A and Review of Homework – You’ve had time to think, now you will have questions. We’ll take care of those first, then review your homework.

10:00am – 11:00am – Google Business Page – Google runs the Internet and you need a presence on Google to be found in search. We’ll work on the many aspects of Google to help you. This will also feed into your Google+ account as well.

11:00am – 11:15am – Break

11:15am – 12:30pm – Location Based Services – If people don’t know where you are, then you’ll never be found. We will use a few tools to check consistency in our NON-GOOGLE listings online. These would include Bing Marketplace, Yelp, Localeze, Hot Frog, YP and more.

12:30pm – 1:15pm – Lunch – We will order lunch in and eat it at InTandem and have a goal setting session. We are looking for you to write down tangible goals for 5 days, 30 days and 90 days. We will meet with each of you in a one on one to review your goals as well as every business is different.

1:15pm – 2:45pm – Track One – We will have a choice of two classes – YouTube and Instagram. Depending on your business, we will offer these two classes. Depending on the results of a survey we may substitute another class.

3:00pm – 4:30pm – Track Two – We will have a choice of two classes – Pinterest For Business and LinkedIn For Personal/Business. Depending on the results of a survey we may substitute another class or run another session of the other classes.

4:30pm – Final Q & A And Wrap Up – We will answer any final questions, include you in our Private Facebook Group and send you on your way, filled with the knowledge AND power that you will have from this two day event.

That’s not all! We will be checking in with you over the next 30 days to see how you are doing and/or answer any questions you may have. We want you to be able to tell others about the tips and ideas you picked up so they can take the course in the future. With membership in our Private Facebook Group, you will also be able to ask others for advice and gain knowledge as well.
